Terms of Use

Effective date: September 1, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 1, 2026
Please read these Terms carefully before using trustedsteer.com.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TrustedSteer website and related online services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are — not an insurer

TrustedSteer operates a free informational, advertising, and referral / marketing Service for consumers in the United States interested in auto insurance and related topics. TrustedSteer is not an insurance company, insurance agency, insurance broker, or producer. We do not underwrite risks, issue or bind policies, adjust claims, or provide insurance advice that constitutes the practice of insurance in any jurisdiction. Any insurance products are offered solely by licensed third parties.

2. Nature of the Service

The Service may include:

  • Educational and editorial content about auto coverage concepts and shopping considerations
  • Forms that allow you to request information or a connection to third-party partners
  • Directories and descriptions of partners that may participate in our marketing network
  • Links to third-party sites and communications facilitated by partners

Content on the Service is for general information only and may be incomplete or outdated. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed insurance professional, attorney, or other qualified advisor familiar with your situation and applicable state law.

3. Advertising & compensation disclaimer

TrustedSteer may be compensated by partners when you submit a form, click certain links, request a quote path, or otherwise engage with marketing offers. Compensation may influence which partners appear, the order of presentation, or how leads are routed, but it does not change your freedom to decline any offer. Listings and referrals are advertising relationships, not endorsements of every product feature, price, or claim. Always review policy documents and ask licensed producers questions before purchasing coverage.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for individuals located in the United States. We do not knowingly provide the Service where prohibited by law.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when submitting forms
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not attempt to interfere with security, scrape the Service in an abusive manner, or reverse engineer our systems except as allowed by law
  • Not impersonate others or submit information about third parties without authority

6. Lead submissions & partner contact

Submitting a form does not create an insurance application, quote, or binder with TrustedSteer. You authorize TrustedSteer to share submitted information with partners as described in our Privacy Policy so those parties may contact you about products or services. Partners are independent; their terms, privacy practices, licensing, and offers are their responsibility. TrustedSteer does not guarantee that any partner will contact you, offer coverage, or offer a particular price.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including text, graphics, logos, layout, and software, is owned by TrustedSteer or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except for fair use or other non-waivable rights.

8. Third-party links & services

The Service may reference or link to third-party websites, apps, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUSTEDSTEER DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT CONTENT WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS OR RESULT IN ANY PARTICULAR INSURANCE OUTCOME.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUSTEDSTEER AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY REFERRAL TO A THIRD PARTY, WHETHER BASED IN WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TrustedSteer and its affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive termination.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer protection laws of your state of residence require otherwise. You agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us before filing a claim. Except where prohibited, disputes will be resolved in state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable rights under applicable consumer protection statutes.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will apply prospectively. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and TrustedSteer regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a corporate transaction. Headings are for convenience only.
